                          FIS Alpine World Ski Championships

The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek, CO is scheduled from
February 2-15 of 2015. This will mark the third time that the Vail Valley has played host
to this prestigious international event, along with the 1989 and 1999 events.

Combined with the 1950 World Championships in Aspen, the 2015 event will also
signify only the fourth Championships ever held in the United States, all of them in
Colorado. The World Championships represent the largest and most impressive
collection of ski racing talent in the world, second only to the Olympics.

This event brings together the top skiers from a multitude of countries around the world
and therefore requires an extraordinary amount of coordination to make the event run
smoothly and to insure the safety of all involved. Therefore, a large number of
frequencies have been requested to insure adequate communications. The specific
frequencies requested, some of which are a bit unusual, are in keeping with those used
at other similar ski events around the world. Due to the number of different entities
requiring communications at these frequent events it is not practical to reconfigure
equipment and re-coordinate the frequencies for each event.

Due to the remote location of this event and the low powers requested no interference
to existing users is anticipated. The location, Beaver Creek, CO, is well away from any
major population centers. In addition, the area of use is in “bowl” surrounded by high
mountains that will insure that the signals will travel only a short distance.

The use of any frequencies that fall within the Broadcast Auxiliary services will be
coordinated with the local SBE coordinator.
