Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Applied Materials manufactures and ships Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment. In order to ship these systems to Europe they must meet the CE Marking requirements, which includes the ElectroMagnetic Compatibility Diretive (EMC Directive). Testing to the EMC Directive means conducting RF Immunity tests, which requires radiating the system at 3V/m field strength from 150 kHz to 960 MHz (RF Sweep Test). Because these systems are very large and massive, it is not feasible to perform this testing anywhere excpet the manufacturing floor. Therefore, in order to continue to ship these systems to Europe we need to have a STA to allow us to perform the RF Sweep Test in our facilites in Santa Clara CA and Austin TX.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Radiated immunity testing of large equipment.
