Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
ANPC, under FAA contract (contract number DTFA01-99-C-00054) continues to test and evaluate the Transponder Landing System as part of the system approval process. The system at The Dalles Municipal Airport (Dallesport WA) is key to engineering tests that support the FAA test process. Recently, the system is operating under authorization provided by an STA dated 3/31/00 (File #: 0119-EX-ST-2000; Call Sign: WA9XGD; expires 9/30/00). All special conditions on the latest STA are still applicable.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Testing of the Transponder Landing System (TLS). We request that the new STA extend for a 180 day period to allow continued system testing.
