Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Interoperability test of Battelle ITAR antenna system with both FCC and NTIA frequency spectrum 4G LTE signals.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The goal of this effort is to perform an evaluation of the Battelle DSA antenna in a multi-frequency cellular application. The evaluation will be conductive by extraction relative LTE-relevant metrics between the DSA and existing cellular antennas that have been deployed. The LTE system used around the antennas is based on Abside’s federal frequency (NTIA) LTE 4G communication system, including base-stations and user-equipments capable of operating in the mid-range and high-range of sub-6GHz spectrum, but also Abside’s FCC LTE product able to operate in low-range (UHF) which can connect to commercial smartphones.

Is a directional antenna (other than radar) used?   Yes
Exhibit submitted:   Yes
(a) Width of beam in degrees at the half-power point:   60.00
(b) Orientation in horizontal plane:   280.00
(c) Orientation in vertical plane:
Will the antenna extend more than 6 meters above the ground, or if mounted on an existing building, will it extend more than 6 meters above the building, or will the proposed antenna be mounted on an existing structure other than a building?   Yes
(a) Overall height above ground to tip of antenna in meters:   20.00
(b) Elevation of ground at antenna site above mean sea level in meters:   1818.00
(c) Distance to nearest aircraft landing area in kilometers:   115.00
(d) List any natural formations of existing man-made structures (hills, trees, water tanks, towers, etc.) which, in the opinion of the applicant, would tend to shield the antenna from aircraft: Transmit location is in sparsely inhabited valley located within the mountains approximately 60 km north north west of Idaho National Labs Wireless Test Bed. This location was suggested by Idaho National Labs Wireless Test Bed personnel because of its isolated location, the tall mountains which should help contain signal propagation, and the complete lack of cellular or other known wireless coverage in this area. This area is sparsely inhabited BLM land and INL Wireless Test Bed is coordinating with BLM for land access and INL is facilitating the test and actively coordinating with local spectrum incumbents. Antenna will be temporarily be mounted on a trailer with mast.
