Loral Orion Services, Inc. has requested grant of final authorization to construct, launch and operate the Orion F3 satellite (now called
Orion 2) at 12 degrees W.L. (See letter dated August 13, 1999 in File No. CSS-91-009.) Conditional authorization was granted on
September 22, 1995. (See Orion Satellite Corporation, 10 FCC Rcd 12307 (1995).)

Modification


Loral Orion Services, Inc. has filed an application for modification of it authorization to construct, launch and operate its Orion 2
satellite (formerly designated Orion F3). Loral Orion is seeking authority to redefine certain spot beam coverage areas, add extended
Ku-band frequencies for European and South African operations, use state-of-the-art traveling wave tube amplifiers, modify the
transponder configuration and standardize channelizations, change the location of the satellite control operations, and make various
other minor technical modifications.
