Launch and Operating Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 03/13/2009 Nature of Service: Direct to Home Fixed Satellite, Fixed Satellite Service, Other On March 13, 2009, the Satellite Division granted, with conditions, EchoStar Corporation's request for authority to construct, launch and operate its 17/24 GHz Broadcasting Satellite Service (BSS) space station, EchoStar EX-5, at the 62.15º W.L. orbital location, using the 17.3-17.8 GHz (space-to-Earth) and the 24.75-25.25 GHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands, with the 17.7-17.8 GHz (space-to-Earth) frequency band limited to international service only, in accordance with the technical specifications in its application, the attachment to the grant, and the Commission's rules. Launch and Operating Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 03/18/2009 Nature of Service: Direct to Home Fixed Satellite, Fixed Satellite Service, Other On March 18, 2009, the Satellite Division granted, with conditions, EchoStar Corporation's request for authority to construct, launch and operate its 17/24 GHz Broadcasting Satellite Service (BSS) space station, EchoStar EX-4, at the 75.0º W.L. orbital location, using the 17.3-17.8 GHz (space-to-Earth) and the 24.75-25.25 GHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands, with the 17.7-17.8 GHz (space-to-Earth) frequency band limited to international service only, in accordance with the technical specifications in its application, the attachment to the grant, and the Commission's rules. SAT-STA-20081205-00222 E Sirius XM Radio Inc. Special Temporary Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 03/17/2009 On March 17, 2009, the Policy Branch granted Sirius XM Radio, Inc. (Sirius XM) special temporary authority for a period of 180 days to operate indoor terrestrial repeaters with an effective isotropically radiated power (EIRP) (average) of (1) up to 10 watts and (2) up to 0.0001 watts at trade shows and other indoor locations, such as automobile industry promotional events, press and marketing events, and investor relations events. Sirius XM is authorized to operate these repeaters within the 2320-2345 MHz frequency bands assigned for the exclusive use of Sirius XM. This authorization is subject to the operational and technical parameters specified in the application, and the conditions attached to the authorization. SAT-STA-20090303-00030 E S2469 Intelsat North America LLC Special Temporary Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 03/16/2009 On March 16, 2009, the Policy Branch granted, with conditions, Intelsat North America LLC's request for special temporary authority, for a period of 60 days commencing on March 16, 2009, to operate the Galaxy 26 space station (Call Sign 2469) at the 50.75º E.L. orbital location in the conventional C- and Ku-bands, (3700-4200 MHz, 5925-6425 MHz, 11.7-12.2 GHz, 14.0-14.5 GHz). Grant of this authorization is without prejudice to any determination that the Commission may make regarding Intelsat's pending application for regular operations of the Galaxy 26 space station at the 50.75º E.L. orbital location (IBFS File No. SAT-MOD-20090309-00034).
