Special Temporary Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 01/18/2007 On January 18, 2007, the Satellite Division granted special temporary authority (STA) to XM Radio Inc. (XM Radio) for a period of 180 days to operate, in conjunction with Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (Sirius), up to an additional 5,000 in-store terrestrial repeaters with an Effective Isotropically Radiated Power (EIRP) of 0.0001 watts at retail outlets within the United States with the technical parameters specified in its application, subject to conditions. Special Temporary Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 01/18/2007 On January 18, 2007, the Satellite Division granted special temporary authority (STA) to Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (Sirius) for a period of 180 days to operate, in conjunction with XM Radio Inc. (XM Radio), up to an additional 5,000 in-store terrestrial repeaters with an Effective Isotropically Radiated Power (EIRP) of 0.0001 watts at retail outlets within the United States with the technical parameters specified in its application, subject to conditions. Special Temporary Authority Grant of Authority Effective Date: 01/18/2007 On January 18, 2007, the Satellite Division granted special temporary authority (STA) to XM Radio Inc. (XM Radio) for a period of 180 days to operate up to 5,000 indoor terrestrial repeaters with an Effective Isotropically Radiated Power (EIRP) of 0.0001 watts at stores and other commercial establishments within the United States where satellite radio receivers are displayed or used, but where signals may be attenuated due to blockage from walls and ceilings, subject to conditions. INFORMATIVE On January 18, 2007, the Policy Branch granted TMI Communications and Company, Limited Partnership's and TerreStar Networks, Inc.'s request to designate its pending application for modification of its license as "permit-but-disclose" for purposes of the Commission's rules governing ex parte communications. See Motion to Designate Proceeding as "Permit-But-Disclose," filed on December 20, 2006. We find that designating the application as "permit-but-disclose" will facilitate resolution of the complex policy issues raised by the application. Thus, we designate IBFS File No. SAT-MOD-20061206-00144 as "permit-but-disclose," effective January 18, 2007. See 47 C.F.R. §§ 1.1200(a), 1.1206 and 1.1208 note 2. This action is without prejudice to any determination regarding the processing of the application.
