SAT-AMD-20051118-00249 E S2607 EchoStar Satellite Operating Corporation Amendment Grant of Authority Effective Date: 12/21/2005 Nature of Service: Direct to Home Fixed Satellite, Fixed Satellite Service Granted with conditions Echostar Satellite Operating Corporation's (Echostar's) application, File No. SAT-MOD-20050930-00195, as amended by SAT-AMD-20051118-00249, to modify its current authorization, File No. SAT-LOA-20031211-00350, Call Sign S2607. Accordingly Echostar is authorized to launch and operate its EchoStar-109W satellite into 109.0º W.L., in the 10.95-11.2 GHz (space-to-Earth), 11.45-11.7 GHz (space-to-Earth), and 13.75-14.0 GHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands and to operate its TT&C at 13.752 GHz (Earth-to-space), 13.998 GHz (Earth-to-space), 11.452 GHz (space-to-Earth), and 11.698 GHz (space-to-Earth). SAT-LOA-19960116-00004 P S2227 Volunteers in Technical Assistance Launch and Operating Authority Surrender of Authorization Effective Date: 12/16/2005 On Friday, December 16, 2005, Volunteers in Technical Assistance (VITA) surrendered its licenses for two space stations in the non-voice, non-geostationary satellite service, or "Little LEO" service, Call Signs S2424 and S2227. See Letter from Joseph A. Godles, Attorney for Volunteers in Technical Assistance, to Marlene H. Dortch, Secretary, Federal Communications Commission, December 16, 2005. Thus, the spectrum formerly licensed to VITA is now available to new applicants. New applications for this spectrum will be processed under the first-come, first-served procedure described in the Commission’s First Space Station Reform Order. Amendment of the Commission’s Space Station Licensing Rules and Policies and Mitigation of Orbital Debris, First Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, IB Dockets No. 02-34 and 02-54, 18 FCC Rcd 10760, 10792 (2003). Interested parties may now apply for the VITA spectrum, as that spectrum is described in the Second Processing Round Order.
