                                          Satellite Space Applications Accepted for Filing
The applications listed below have been found, upon initial review, to be acceptable for filing. The Commission reserves
the right to return any of the applications if, upon further examination, it is determined the application is not in
conformance with the Commission's rules or its policies. Consideration of each satellite application in this Public Notice
may depend on the Commission's action on another satellite application earlier in the queue. Petitions, oppositions and
other pleadings filed in response to this notice should conform to Section 25.154 of the Commission's rules, unless
otherwise noted. 47 C.F.R. § 25.154.

Special Temporary Authority


PanAmSat Licensee Corp. has filed an application for an extension of special temporary authority to to operate Galaxy 3R at 73.95°
W.L. for an additional 180 days, commencing with the expiration of the current 180-day period, to operate Galaxy 3R at 73.95° W.L.
PanAmSat currently operates Galaxy 3R at 73.95° W.L. pursuant to an STA that became effective on March 28, 2005. The STA
authorizes operation of Galaxy 3R at 73.95° W.L. for a 180-day period ending on Sep. 24, 2005.

On our own motion, we designate the application to reassign the DirecTV 8 satellite from 100.85º W.L. to 100.75º W.L. as
"permit-but-disclose" for purposes of the Commission's rules governing ex parte communications. We find that designating the
application as "permit-but-disclose" will facilitate resolution of the complex technical issues raised by the application. Thus, we
designate IBFS Files No. SAT-MOD-20050513-00100 as "permit-but-disclose," effective September 30, 2005. 47 C.F.R. §§
1.1200(a), 1.1206 and 1.1208, Note 2. This action is without prejudice to any determination regarding the processing of the
application.
