                 PanAmSat Corporation Request for Special Temporary Authority Accepted For Filing


The applications listed below have been found, upon initial review, to be acceptable for filing. The Commission reserves
the right to return any of the applications if, upon further examination, it is determined the application is not in
conformance with the Commission's rules or its policies. Petitions, oppositions and other pleadings filed in response to
this notice should conform to Section 25.154 of the Commission's rules, unless otherwise noted. 47 C.F.R. § 25.154.




SAT-STA-19990407-00036             HGS-1          PANAMSAT CORPORATION
Special Temporary Authority
PanAmSat Corporation has filed a request for Special Temporary Authority to operate the HGS-1 satellite at 60 degrees W.L. for up to
180 days. PanAmSat has been granted Special Temporary Authority to relocate the HGS-1 satellite at 60 degrees W.L. (See File Nos.
SAT-STA-19990205-00019, SAT-STA-19990216-00031, SAT-STA-19990302-00022.) PanAmSat proposes to operate the HGS-1
satellite in the 5845 - 6425 MHz and 3620 - 4200 MHz frequency bands on a non-common carrier basis.

Comments may be filed on or before MAY 14, 1999. Replies may be filed on or before JUNE 1, 1999. Responses may be filed on or
before JUNE 11, 1999.
