Amendment to Application for Modification of Milestone Schedule for Space Imaging Remote Sensing satellite [See File No.

SAT-LOA-19990126-00018               S2368         PANAMSAT LICENSEE CORP.
Launch and Operating Authority
PanAmSat Licensee Corporation has filed an application to launch and operate PAS-1R, a hybrid C/Ku-band fixed satellite service
satellite, as a replacement satellite at 45 degrees W.L. PanAmSat operates its PAS-1 satellite at 45 degrees and intends to operate both
the PAS-1 and PAS-1R at that location for as long as PAS-1 can maintain its position. The PAS-1R satellite will consist of thirty-six
36 MHz transponders in both the C and Ku-bands, employing full frequency reuse through dual linear polarization and geographic
isolation. Proposed services are non-common carrier and include voice, video and data services, serving North and South America, the
Caribbean, Europe and Africa.



SAT-MOD-19990128-00017               IS-515        COLUMBIA COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION
Modification
Columbia Communications Corporation has filed an application for modification of its existing geostationary space station
authorization. Columbia is authorized to provide C-band capacity on the Columbia 515 satellite located at 37.7 degrees W.L. (see
Columbia Communications Corporation, DA 98-1081 (released September 8, 1998)). Columbia requests a modification of that
authorization to permit it to use the Ku-band capacity available on that satellite.




CORRECTION:

In Public Notice, Report No. SPB-148 (released February 16, 1999), the last sentence of in the second paragraph should
read as follows:

Accordingly, effective February 16, 1999, ex parte presentations in this proceeding are subject to the disclosure
requirements set forth in Section 1.1206 of the Commission's rules. 47 C.F.R. § 1.1206.
