SAT-MOD-19981125-00089               DBS8801        ECHOSTAR SATELLITE CORPORATION
Modification
EchoStar Satellite Corporation (EchoStar), Directsat Corporation (Directsat) and Direct Broadcasting Satellite Corporation (DBSC)
have filed a Consolidated Request for Extension of Time to commence operation of their direct broadcast satellite systems. The
current operation milestones for the permits for the western locations are November 30, 1998 for DBSC; August 14, 1999 for
Directsat; and August 15, 1999 for EchoStar. The parties are requesting an extension until December 2002.

Satellite CD Radio, Inc. has filed an application for modification of its Digital Audio Radio Service satellite system. Satellite CD Radio
seeks (1) to increase the number of satellites from two to three, plus a ground spare; (2) to operate all three satellites in inclined and
elliptical (non-geostationary) orbits; and (3) to use the 6/4 GHz frequency band on a non-interfering basis for telemetry, tracking and
control.
