SAT-AMD-20000510-00089 S2347 GE AMERICAN COMMUNICATIONS, INC. Amendment GE American Communications, Inc. has filed an amendment to its pending application to launch and operate the GE-6 satellite as a Hybrid Replacement Satellite for Satcom SN-4. (See File No. 65-SAT-P/LA-98; SAT-LOA-19971222-00230, Public Notice, Report No. SPB-114 (January 15, 1998).) In its Amendment, GE Americom requests authority to launch and operate the GE-6 satellite at 72 degrees W.L. rather than 101 degrees W.L. to reflect the reassignment of Satcom SN-4. In addition, GE Americom proposes certain technical changes to the satellite. In particular, GE Americom does not seek to provide extended Ku-band services at the 72 degree W.L. orbital location and the coverage area of the satellite will be limited to North America and the Caribbean. SAT-LOA-20000505-00086 S2417 DIRECTV ENTERPRISES, INC. Launch and Operating Authority DIRECTV Enterprises, Inc. has filed an application to launch and operate DIRECTV 5, a direct broadcast satellite (DBS) space station. Directv requests authorization to launch and operate DIRECTV 5 and colocate it with the USABSS-7 satellite at 119 degrees W.L. Following the successful launch of DIRECTV 5, the USABSS-7 satellite would be an in-orbit spare. The satellite would operate over 11 DBS frequencies authorized for DIRECTV at 119 degrees W.L. on a non-broadcast, non-commn carrier basis. DIRECTV proposes to launch this satellite in September 2000. Page 1 of 2

SAT-PDR-20000420-00083 ANIK F1 TELESAT CANADA Petition for Declaratory Ruling On April 20, 2000, Telesat Canada filed a Petition for Declaratory Ruling requesting the Commission add the satellite listed below to the "Permitted Space Station" list created by the Commission in the DISCO II First Reconsideration Order. [See Amendment of the Commission's Regulatory Policies to Allow Non-U.S. Licensed Space Stations to Provide Domestic and International Satellite Service in the United States, Order, IB Docket No. 96-111, FCC 99-325 (released Oct. 29, 1999) (DISCO II First Reconsideration Order).] · ANIK F-1 at 107.3° W.L. This matter shall be treated as a "permit-but-disclose" proceeding in accordance with the Commission's ex parte rules. See 47 C.F.R. §§ 1.1200, 1.1206. Persons making oral ex parte presentations are reminded that memoranda summarizing the presentations must contain summaries of the substance of the presentations and not merely a listing of the subjects discussed. More than a one or two sentence description of the views and arguments presented is generally required. See 47 C.F.R. § 1.1206(b). Other rules pertaining to oral and written ex parte presentations in permit-but-disclose proceedings are set forth in Section 1.1206(b) of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. § 1.1206(b).
