The applications listed below have been found, upon initial review, to be acceptable for filing. The Commission reserves
the right to return any of the applications if, upon further examination, it is determined the application is not in

SAT-LOA-19981029-00084             S2359          PANAMSAT LICENSEE CORP.
Launch and Operating Authority
PanAmSat Licensee Corporation has filed an application to launch and operate a replacement satellite, PAS-8B. PanAmSat proposes
to operate the PAS-8B satellite at 43 degrees W.L. providing Ku-band replacement capacity for the PAS-8 satellite, currently
operating at that location, which has suffered losses in its power generating system. PanAmSat proposes to operate the PAS-8B
satellite on a non-common carrier basis to continue to provide services such as commercial television and radio distribution,
teleconferencing, video backhaul, high speed image transmission and private data networks.
