SAT-LOA-19981029-00084 S2359 PANAMSAT LICENSEE CORP. Launch and Operating Authority PanAmSat Licensee Corporation has filed an application to launch and operate a replacement satellite, PAS-8B. PanAmSat proposes to operate the PAS-8B satellite at 43 degrees W.L. providing Ku-band replacement capacity for the PAS-8 satellite, currently operating at that location, which has suffered losses in its power generating system. PanAmSat proposes to operate the PAS-8B satellite on a non-common carrier basis to continue to provide services such as commercial television and radio distribution, teleconferencing, video backhaul, high speed image transmission and private data networks.
