Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:

In accordance with 47 C.F.R. 5.54 (a)(2) and 47 C.F.R. 5.61 this STA is necessary to test the performance of a crossed dipole antenna laid on top of the ground by measuring the field strength produced with a specific input power. This is for a conventional experimental operation expected to last no more than six months. Please see attached engineering statement of Carl T. Jones, Jr., P.E.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:

The purpose of this conventional experimental operation is to test the performance of a crossed-dipole antenna system laid on top of the ground. This will be done on 3 different frequencies in the medium-wave broadcast band during the daytime hours only. A specific antenna input power of not more than 250 watts total (125 watts into each of the two crossed dipole antennae). Please see attached engineering statement of Carl T. Jones, Jr., P.E.
