To transmit U.S. Army's Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) and Adaptive Network Wideband Waveform (ANW2), as well as, a continuous wave (CW) signal, an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) signal, and Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) activity playback for ground to ground propagation measurements within 1770-1780 MHz, in support of the Army Spectrum Management Offices (ASMO) ten year transition plan associated with FCC Auction 97 for AWS-3 bands.

Special Temporary Authority application - Initial values - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
In January and April of 2019, evaluations at Fort Dix, New Jersey will be done to determine if it is possible to relax exclusion zone constraints at six protected U.S. Army locations associated with Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) ground-to-ground operations. The primary objective is to measure the susceptibility of the SRW and ANW2 to interference from AWS user equipment (UE) operating in the J block (1770-1780 MHz) of the AWS-3 band. The secondary objective is to measure the susceptibility of the AWS uplink receiver to interference from the SRW and ANW2 in the J block. The ground-to-ground propagation measurements will consist of transmit systems: JTRS and signal generator, and receive systems: JTRS and spectrum analyzer. Measurement data may be collected which may support relaxing the Army’s exclusion zone constraints at the protected sites for JTRS ground-to-ground operations.
