To whom it may concern:

Philips is requesting a expedited response for a Special Transmit Authority (STA) and
Experimental License for a two-day period from May 29th to May 30th, 2007. Critical
tests will be made that will resolve an interference issue that concerns the operation of
Wireless Medical Telemetry (WMTS) equipment used for critically ill patient monitoring
equipment.

One of the five hospitals to be tested is a VA Hospital. The date set for the measurements
is a period that allows the tests to be made at a time when other susceptible systems in the
area are in a maintenance window so they can not be affected by the tests. The next
maintenance window will not occur for another six months.

The purpose of these measurements is to determine the path loss between a transmit site
and five hospitals housing the WMTS.

The transmitter sill be located at the following NAD 83 coordinates: 41º46’17.13’N -
91º34’26.89”
