TAINTED BY TAXPAYER FRAUD INVOLVING USDA BROADBAND STIMULUS GRANTS; DISH Network in TROUBLE TOO EchoStar Corporation (EchoStar) agreed to buy broadband satellite Internet Company Hughes Communications Inc. (Hughes) for $1.3 billion to expand its video and data offerings. EchoStar will acquire Germantown, Md. based Hughes for $60.70 a share—a 31 percent premium over the stock price before it jumped on market speculation last month. Including assumed debt, the deal value is close to $2 billion. Hughes majority shareholder Apollo Global Management already agreed to approve the takeover. R&L ASSOCIATES (R&L), President, is the "Relator" of record with the Department of Justice under the Federal False Claims Act, 31 U.S.C. §§ 3729—3733, with statutory authority to recover Millions of Taxpayer Dollars fraudulently obtained by Hughes through the USDA‘s Rural Development Division, as part of the Federal Stimulus Package, BROADBAND INITIATIVES PROGRAM — AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009. Both Companies are in a cover—up currently and the two law firms [Sullivan Cromwell {EchoStar} / Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld {Hughes}] representing the respective companies in the merger / acquisition are not cooperating with the recovery of taxpayer money fraudulently obtained by Hughes. R&L will be suing all parties connected, inclusive of accessories—after—the—fact, seeking treble damages. U.S. ex rel. Longhi v. Lithium Power Tech., Inc. (July 9, 2009). DISH Network Corporation (DISH) is also involved in the taxpayer fraud. Charlie Ergen is Chairman of both DISH & EchoStar. Hughes Executives‘ "Golden Parachutes" might not open.
