EXHIBIT 1 REQUEST FOR SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC (“DIRECTV”) respectfully requests an extension of its grant of special temporary authority (“STA”) for an additional 60 days to add new satellite points of communication to DIRECTV’s Los Angeles, California earth station authorization (Call Sign E980285) while its underlying modification application to permanently add these satellite points of communication to the existing authorization remains pending.1 Pursuant to Section 1.62 of the Commission’s rules,2 DIRECTV will continue to operate pursuant to the terms and conditions of its existing STA3 pending action on this timely filed renewal request. On September 3, 2019, the Commission granted DIRECTV special temporary authority to add DIRECTV’s T16 (Call Sign S3039) and T8 (Call Sign S2632) satellites as points of communication to DIRECTV’s Los Angeles, California earth station authorization (Call Sign E980285).4 On June 26, 2019, DIRECTV filed a modification application to permanently replace the existing satellite points of communication for Call Sign E980285 with “US LICENSED DIRECTV satellites at 101, 110, and 119 WL clusters.”5 By this application, DIRECTV respectfully requests an extension of its current grant of STA for an additional 60 days while its underlying earth station modification application remains pending. 1 See Modification Application to Add New Satellite Points of Communication to Call Sign E980285, File No. SES-MOD-20190626-00845. 2 47 C.F.R. § 1.62 3 See Satellite Communications Services Information; Actions Taken, Public Notice, Report No. SES-02199, File No. SES-STA-20190811-01043 (Sept. 11, 2019). 4 See id. 5 See Modification Application to Add New Satellite Points of Communication to Call Sign E980285, File No. SES-MOD-20190626-00845. 1

Grant of this STA request is in the public interest because it will facilitate communications with DIRECTV’s T16 and T8 satellites. This, in turn, will extend coverage, improve service performance, and provide additional capacity to customers, thereby promoting the public interest. Accordingly, DIRECTV respectfully requests that the Commission grant this request. 2
