Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Extension of Special Temporary Authority Ellenwood, Georgia Earth Station E170122 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests an additional 30 days of Special Temporary Authority (“STA”)1 previously granted to Intelsat to use its Ellenwood, Georgia Ku-band earth station (Call Sign E170122) to provide telemetry, tracking, and command (“TT&C”) services for Galaxy 11 (Call Sign S2253) during its drift from 44.9° E.L. to 93.1° W.L.2 Galaxy 11 began drifting on March 4, 2019, and the drift is expected to take approximately six months. Intelsat has filed a modification to add Galaxy 11 as a point of communication at 93.1° W.L.3 The Galaxy 11 TT&C operations will continue to be performed in the following frequencies: 14000.5 MHz and 14498.5 MHz in the uplink; and 11701.0 MHz and 11702.0 MHz in the downlink. In the extremely unlikely event that harmful interference should occur due to transmissions to or from its earth station, Intelsat will take all reasonable steps to eliminate the interference. Grant of this STA extension request will allow Intelsat to continue drifting Galaxy 11 to its new location. This, in turn, will allow Intelsat to provide service continuity at the nominal 93.1° W.L. orbital location and thereby promotes the public interest.
