Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Special Temporary Authority to Operate New Transportable Antennas Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests a grant of Special Temporary Authority (“STA”)1 for 60 days, beginning June 30, 2019, to allow Intelsat to utilize 40 transportable Ku-band antennas (collectively, the “Antennas”), within the contiguous-lower 48 states to communicate with Intelsat satellites. This STA will allow Intelsat to provide customer service pending grant of a permanent license.2 Specifically, Intelsat is seeking authority to use ten antennas of each of the following types: 1. GATR Flex 75 (.75 meter); 2. GATR 1.2 (1.2 meter); 3. L3 Panther 60 (.6 meter); and 4. L3 Panther 96 (.96 meter). The proposed communication services will be performed in the following frequency bands: 14.0-14.5 GHz (Earth-to-space), and 11.7-12.2 GHz (space-to-Earth). The proposed operations will be consistent with Intelsat’s coordination agreements.
