Re: Request for Further Extension of Special Temporary Authority to Operate a Ku-band Flat-panel
Antenna in McLean, Virginia

Dear Ms. Dortch:

Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests an additional 30 days of Special Temporary
Authority (“STA”)1 previously granted Intelsat to utilize a Ku-band flat-panel antenna located at its
McLean, Virginia headquarters2 to communicate with the Intelsat 29e satellite (S2913) at 50.0º W.L.
in order to provide connectivity for the Internet of Things (“IOT”). Intelsat plans to file a permanent
license application for this antenna.

The Ku-band flat-panel antenna communication services will continue to be performed in: 14.375-
14.4375 GHz (Earth-to-space) and 12.075-12.220 GHz (space-to-Earth) band.

In further support of this further extension request, Intelsat incorporates by reference Exhibits A and B
submitted with its original STA request,3 which contains technical information that demonstrates that
the operation of the earth station will be compatible with its electromagnetic environment and will not
cause harmful interference into any lawfully operating terrestrial facility, or into Federal systems
operating in the 13.75-14.00 GHz band.

1
Intelsat has filed its STA request, an FCC Form 159, a $210.00 filing fee, and this supporting
letter electronically via the International Bureau’s Filing System (“IBFS”).
