              EXTENSION REQUEST FOR SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY

           Globecomm License Sub LLC (“Globecomm”) respectfully requests an extension of its

grant of special temporary authority (“STA”)1 for an additional 60 days commencing January 29,

2019 to operate its 3.8-meter Ku−band antenna (GSM−15) and 4.0 meter Ku−band antenna

(GSM−16) in Laurel, Maryland prior to grant of its pending License Modification Application

(“MOD”).2 The Commission granted Globocomm’s initial STA on November 29, 2018 with an

expiration date of January 28, 2019.3 The pending MOD contains complete technical details

regarding the proposed earth station, which are incorporated by reference here. For purposes of

this STA, the point of communication for GSM−15 will be the Galaxy 19 satellite at orbital

position 97 W.L. (Call Sign S2647), and the point of communication for GSM−16 will be the

Telstar 12V satellite at orbital position 15º W.L. (Call Sign S2933). The 24/7 emergency contact

is the Maryland Teleport Operations Center, which can be reached at 240-553-9401.


           Pursuant to Section 1.62 of the Commission’s rules, Globocomm will continue to operate

GSM−15 and GSM−16 pursuant to the terms and conditions of its existing STA pending action

on this timely filed renewal request.4


           Grant of special temporary authority will serve the public interest because it will allow

Globecomm to expand its customers offerings, while meeting its growing business needs.

Globecomm understands that all operations pursuant to a grant of special temporary authority

will be on a non-interference basis. Globecomm further understands that any grant of special

temporary authority will be without prejudice to the underlying pending license application.
