                                    EXHIBIT 1
                    REQUEST FOR SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY

DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC (“DIRECTV”) respectfully requests a grant of special

temporary authority (“STA”)1 for 30 days commencing September 4, 2018 to use its Castle Rock,

Colorado earth station (Call Sign E150022) to provide telemetry, tracking, and command

(“TT&C”) services for its T15 satellite (Call Sign S2930) during the satellite’s drift from its

current location at 102.75 W.L. to its temporary location at 100.85 W.L. and to maintain the

satellite at the 100.85 W.L. orbital location.

Subject to prior Commission approval of DIRECTV’s separate request for space station

special temporary authority filed concurrently with this application, DIRECTV plans to

temporarily relocate T15 from its permanently licensed orbital location of 102.75 W.L. to

100.85 W.L. The drift is scheduled to begin on September 4, 2018 and is expected to last

approximately ten days. Accordingly, DIRECTV respectfully submits this STA request for

authority to use the earth station to provide TT&C services to the T15 satellite for a 30-day

period beginning September 4, 2018.

The range of earth station frequencies requested to provide TT&C services for T15 are:

     29502.5 MHz and 29505.9 MHz (T); and

     20198.5 MHz and 20199.5 MHz (R).

The drift operations will continue to be coordinated with all operators of satellites that

use the same frequency bands and are in the drift path. All operators of satellites in that path will

be provided with an emergency phone number where the licensee can be reached in the event

that harmful interference occurs. In the extremely unlikely event that harmful interference

should occur due to transmissions to or from its earth station, DIRECTV will take all reasonable

steps to eliminate the interference.

Grant of this STA request is in the public interest because it will facilitate the temporary

relocation of T15 from 102.75 W.L. to 100.85 W.L. This, in turn, will extend coverage,

improve service performance, and provide additional capacity to customers at the nominal 101

W.L. orbital location, thereby promoting the public interest. Accordingly, DIRECTV

respectfully requests that the Commission grant this request.
