                                    EXHIBIT 1
                    REQUEST FOR SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY

DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC (“DIRECTV”) respectfully requests a grant of earth station

special temporary authority (“STA”)1 for 30 days commencing September 10, 2019 to operate its

Castle Rock, Colorado earth station (Call Sign E930304) to deorbit DIRECTV’s T4S satellite

(Call Sign S2430).

T4S is approaching the end of its operational life, and DIRECTV expects to begin

deorbiting the satellite as early as September 10, 2019. DIRECTV plans to operate its Castle

Rock, Colorado earth station (Call Sign E930304) to deorbit T4S and anticipates a need to do so

utilizing broader satellite arc, elevation, and azimuth limits than what are currently authorized

under the existing authorization. Accordingly, DIRECTV respectfully requests a grant of STA

for 30 days commencing September 10, 2019 to operate the earth station utilizing a satellite arc

east limit of 40.0 W.L. (with elevation of 10.8 and azimuth of 106.6) and a satellite arc west

limit of 170.0 W.L. (with elevation of 10.5 and azimuth of 253.7) for all authorized frequency

ranges.

The 24/7 emergency contact information is as follows: Steve Dulac at (310) 429-1624.

Grant of this earth station STA request is in the public interest because it will facilitate

the deorbiting of DIRECTV’s T4S satellite. Accordingly, DIRECTV respectfully requests that

the Commission grant this request.
