Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Extension of Special Temporary Authority Mountainside, Maryland Earth Station KA258 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests an additional 30 days of Special Temporary Authority (“STA”)1 previously granted to Intelsat to use its Mountainside, Maryland Ku-band earth station (call sign KA258) to provide telemetry, tracking, and command (“TT&C”) services for Galaxy 11 (call sign $2253) during its drift from 44.9° E.L. to 93.1° W.L.2 Galaxy 11 began drifting on March 4, 2019, and the drift is expected to take approximately six months.3 Intelsat has filed a modification to add Galaxy 11 as a point of communication at 93.10 W.L.4 The Galaxy 11 TT&C operations will continue to be performed in the following frequencies: 14000.5 MHz and 14498.5 MHz in the uplink; and 11701.0 MHz and 11702.0 MHz in the downlink. The drift operations will be coordinated with all operators of satellites that use the same frequency bands and are in the drift path.5 All operators of satellites in that path will be provided with an emergency phone number where the licensee can be reached in the event that harmful interference occurs.
