Dear Ms. Dortch:

Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”), herein requests Special Temporary Authority (“STA”)1 for 60 days
beginning July 6, 2019, to use its Ellenwood, Georgia Ka-band earth station (Call Sign E010112) to
provide back-up telemetry, tracking, and command (“TT&C”) for DirecTV 9S (Call Sign S2669) at
101.1° W.L.2 Intelsat intends to file an application to permanently modify its license to support
TT&C services for DirecTV 9S at 101.1° W.L.

The proposed operations will be performed at the following center frequencies:

                 downlink: 12695.5 MHz and 12696.5 MHz (CP); and
                 uplink:   17795.0 MHz and 17792.5 MHz (RHCP).

In the unlikely event that harmful interference occurs, Intelsat will take all necessary steps to eliminate
the interference.

In support of this request, Intelsat incorporates the technical information on file with the E010112
license,3 which contains technical information that demonstrates that the operation of the earth station

will be compatible with its electromagnetic environment and will not cause harmful interference into
any lawfully operating terrestrial facility.

Grant of this STA request will allow Intelsat to provide backup TT&C services to the DirecTV 9S
satellite at 101.1° W.L., which ensures safe station-keeping of the satellite and thereby promotes the
public interest.
