Applicant: Intelsat License LLC CallSign: E170122 File No.: SES-STA-20190408-00502 Special Temporary Authority (“STA”) Intelsat License LLC is granted to operate under STA for 60 days at geographical location 330 39’52.8” NI 084° 16’ 12.0” W in Ellenwood, Georgia to provide telemetry, tracking, and command (“TT&C”) services for the Galaxy 11 (Call Sign S2253) satellite to drift from 44.9° E to 93.1° W. Operations will be under the following conditions: 1. Operations are on center frequencies: 14000.5 MHz and 14498.5 MHz (Earth-to-space) and 11701.0 MHz and 11702.0 MHz (space-to-Earth). 2. All operations shall be on an unprotected and non-harmful interference basis, Intelsat License LLC, E170122, shall not cause harmful interference to, and shall not claim protection from, interference caused to it by any other lawfully operating station and it shall cease transmission(s) immediately upon notice of such interference and must inform the Commission, in writing, immediately of such an event. 3. All operators of satellites in that path will be provided with an emergency phone number where the licensee can be reached when harmful interference occurs. Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Special Temporary Authority Ellenwood, Georgia Earth Station E170122 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests 60 days of Special Temporary Authority (“STA”),1 commencing May 10, 20] 9, to use its Ellenwood, Georgia Ku-band earth station—call sign El 70122—to provide telemetry, tracking, and command (“TT&C”) services for Galaxy 11 (Call Sign S2253) during its drift from 44.9° E.L. to 93.1° W.L.2 Galaxy 11 began drifting on March 4,2019, and the drift is expected to take approximately six months. Intelsat will be filing a modification to add Galaxy 11 as a point of communication. The Galaxy 11 TT&C operations will be performed in the following frequencies: 14000.5 MHz and 14498.5 MHz in the uplink; and 11701.0 MHz and 11702.0 MHz in the downlink. The drift operations will be coordinated with all operators of satellites that use the same frequency bands and are in the drift path.3 All operators of satellites in that path will be provided with an emergency phone number where the licensee can be reached in the event that harmful interference occurs. In the extremely unlikely event that harmful interference should occur due to transmissions to or from its earth station, Intelsat will take all reasonable steps to eliminate the interference.
