                                            EXHIBIT 1

          Pursuant to 47 C.F.R. § 25.120(b), EchoStar Operating L.L.C. (“EchoStar”) requests a

30-day renewal of its special temporary authority (“STA”), expiring on May 31, 2018, to operate

earth stations, as specified in the table below, for telemetry, tracking, and control (“TT&C”)

operations required to deorbit the EchoStar 6 satellite (Call Sign S2232).1

Grant of the requested STA renewal will permit deorbiting of EchoStar 6, within a 60-

day period, to a disposal orbit at a nominal altitude of approximately 386 km, consistent with

end-of-life disposal requirements under Section 25.283 of the Commission’s rules. 2

Accordingly, grant of the requested STA will serve the public interest by facilitating retirement

of the satellite to a disposal orbit in an orderly manner and consistent with Commission

requirements.

EchoStar may operate additional earth stations in Gilbert, AZ (E020306), Quicksburg, VA (E070273),
and Cheyenne, WY (E080120), which are already authorized for TT&C communications with EchoStar 6
at its assigned 96.2° W.L. orbital location. See IBFS File Nos. SES-MFS-20130307-00233 (granted Aug.
11, 2014); SES-MFS-20130307-00232 (granted Aug. 11, 2014); SES-MFS-20130307-00234 (granted
