EchoStar Operating L.L.C. is granted a 30—day STA beginning May 1, 2018 to operate its earth
station Call Sign EO70275 at location 47° 35°33.5" N, 117° 33° 5.1" W (NADS®83) in Spokane,
WA to perform de—orbit maneuvers for the EchoStar 6 satellite (Call Sign 2232). Telemetry,
tracking, and control ("TT&C") services will be conducted on 17305 MHz (Earth—to—space) and
on 12203—12204 MHz (space—to—Earth) frequencies to a disposal orbit at nominal altitude of 386 alove e 6t
kilometers with the following conditions:                                                             /Zg

1)      Operations shall not cause harmful interference to, and shall not claim protection from,
interference caused to it by any other lawfully operating station and it shall cease transmission(s)
immediately upon notice of such interference.

2)     Operations must be coordinated with all operators of satellites that use the same
frequency bands and are in the de—orbit path. All operators of satellites in that path will be
provided with an emergency 24x7 contact phone number information for the mission.

3)    Grant of this authorization is without prejudice to any determination that the Commission
may make regarding pending or future EchoStar Operating L.L.C. applications.

4)      Any action taken or expense incurred as a result of operations pursuant to this STA is
solely at EchoStar Operating L.L.C.‘s risk.

5)     EchoStar Operating L.L.C. must dispose of EchoStar 6 satellite in accordance with 47
C.F.R.§ 25.283.

This action is issued pursuant to Section 0.261 of the Commission‘s rules on delegated authority,
47 C.F.R. §0.261, and is effective immediately.

                               (Response to STA Form, Question 8)

        Pursuant to 47 C.F.R. § 25.120(b), EchoStar Operating L.L.C. ("EchoStar") requests 30—

day special temporary authority ("STA"), commencing on May 1, 2018, to operate earth stations,

as specified in the table below, for telemetry, tracking, and control ("TT&C") communications

required to deorbit the EchoStar 6 satellite (Call Sign $2232).‘

        Grant of the requested STA (and any required STA renewal) will permit deorbiting of

EchoStar 6, within a 60—day period, to a disposal orbit at a nominal altitude of approximately 386

km., consistent with end—of—life disposal requirements under Section 25.283 of the Commission‘s

rules." Accordingly, grant of the requested STA will serve the public interest by facilitating

retirement of the satellite to a disposal orbit in an orderly manner and consistent with

Commission requirements.




‘ EchoStar may operate additional earth stations in Gilbert, AZ (EO020306), Quicksburg, VA (E070273),
and Cheyenne, WY (EO80120), which are already authorized for TT&C operations with EchoStar 6 at its
assigned 96.2° W.L. orbital location. See IBFS File Nos. SES—MFS—20130307—00233 (granted Aug. 11,
2014); SES—MFS—20130307—00232 (granted Aug. 11, 2014); SES—MFS—20130307—00234 (granted Aug.
11, 2014).
