Dortch Secretary Federal Communications Commission 445 12th Street, SW Washington, DC 20554 Re: Request for Extension of Special Temporary Authority Filmore, CA C-band Earth Station KA391 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests an additional 30 days of Special Temporary Authority (“STA”)1 previously granted Intelsat to continue using its Fillmore, California C-band earth station— call sign KA391—to provide telemetry, tracking, and command (“TT&C”) services2 to Intelsat 805 at its permanent location of 169.0° E.L.3 Intelsat plans shortly to permanently modify its KA391 license to support Intelsat 805 TT&C services at 169.0° E.L. The Intelsat 805 TT&C operations will continue to be performed at the following frequencies: 6173.7 MHz and 6176.3 MHz (CP) in the uplink, and 3947.5 MHz, 3948.0 MHz, 3952.0 MHz, and 3952.5 MHz (RHCP) in the downlink. Intelsat will provide technical information demonstrating that the operation of the earth station will be compatable with its electromagnetic environment and will not cause harmful interference into any lawfully operating terrestrial facility as part of its application to permanently modify its KA391 license to include Intelsat 805 as an authorized point of communication. In the extremely unlikely event that harmful interference should occur due to transmissions to or from its earth station, Intelsat will take all reasonable steps to eliminate the interference.
