Washington, DC 20554 Re: Request for Further Extension of Special Temporary Authority 18-inch Ku-band Vehicle-mounted Earth Station Antenna Call Sign E170121 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests an additional 30 days of Special Temporary Authority (“STA”)1 previously granted Intelsat to utilize a vehicle-mounted 18-inch Rantec Airborne SATCOM terminal2 to communicate with Intelsat 29e (S2913) while the vehicle is in motion in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida to test a new product. All testing will continue to occur on the ground and will continue to be performed in the following frequency bands: 14.0-14.5 GHz and 11.7-12.2 GHz. Intelsat has received an Earth Stations Aboard Aircraft permanent license for this antenna.3 In support of this further extension request, Intelsat incorporates by reference a radiation hazard report submitted as Exhibit A in its original STA request.4 Additionally, Intelsat will not operate within 125 km of any Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System sites.
