Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Special Temporary Authority Hagerstown, Maryland Earth Station KA275 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC ("Intelsat") herein requests a grant of Special Temporary Authority ("STA")‘ for 60 days, commencing August 10, 2017, to use its Hagerstown, Maryland C—band earth station—call sign KA275—to provide Telemetry, Tracking, and Command ("TT&C") services to Intelsat 35e (call sign $2959) at its permanent location of 34.5° W.L.* Intelsat has a pending application to permanently modify its KA275 license to support Intelsat 35e TT&C services at 34.5° W.L.* The proposed operations will be performed at the following center frequencies: 4197.75 MHz, 4198.25 MHz, 4198.75 MHz, and 4199.25 MHz (space—to—Earth); and 5853.0 MHz and 6424.5 MHz (Earth—to— space). In further support of this request, Intelsat incorporates its pending modification application," which includes technical information that demonstrates that the operation of the earth station will be compatible with its electromagnetic environment and will not cause harmfulinterference into any lawfully operating terrestrial facility. The proposed operations at 34.5° W.L. will be consistent with Intelsat‘s coordination agreements for the nominal 34.5° W.L. This, in turn, will help ensure continuity of service at the 34.5° W.L. orbital location and thereby promotes the public interest.
