REQUEST FOR SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY By this application, SES Americom, Inc. (“SES”) respectfully requests special temporary authority (“STA”) for a period of 180 days to operate a fixed antenna in the conventional Ku-band on a non-interference basis at its Manassas, Virginia teleport. The antenna will communicate with SES-4 (call sign S2828), a Netherlands-licensed satellite that is on the Commission’s Permitted Space Station List. The technical details of the proposed operations are provided below, and the antenna will be operated in compliance with the Commission’s radiation hazard limits. Grant of the requested authority will allow SES to begin testing the antenna in preparation for customer service delivery.
