12. Description.
Extension of existing STA, File number SES-STA-20170214-00160 that is due to expire on 3/07/17. The applicant requests continued Special Temporary Authority for a 2.4 meter and 3.8 meter C-band T/O earth stations to allow for staging and full system testing of a new public safety land-mobile radio communication system to be deployed permanently in the North Slope of Alaska which will use satellite interconnections between the remote radio sites and master site in Barrow, AK. The proposed 2.4 meter and 3.8 meter C-band T/O earth stations will be tested at Lacey, Washington before deployment to Alaska. The Alaska operations will be licensed under future separate and permanent license requests, this STA pertains to just the antenna testing in Lacey, Washington. The testing is estimated to be completed by 4/18/17 and it requested that STA authorization be granted through that period.
