Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Special Temporary Authority Mountainside, Maryland Earth Station KA258 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC ("Intelsat") herein requests 180 days, beginning May 1, 2017, of Special Temporary Authority ("STA")‘ to use its Mountainside, Maryland Ku—band earth station—call sign KA258—to provide telemetry, tracking, and command ("TT&C®") services for Intelsat 9 (S2380) during its drift from 43.1° W.L. to 29.5° W.L., and on—station at 29.5° W.L.* Intelsat 9 is expected to begin drifting no earlier than April 1, 2017, and the drift will take approximately two months." TT&C operations will be performed in the following frequencies: 14000.5 MHz and 14494.5 MHz (Earth—to—space); and 11700.5 MHz and 11702.0 MHz (space—to—Earth). The drift operations will be coordinated with all operators of satellites that use the same frequency bands and are in the drift path."
