                                       Request for Renewal of
                                    Special Temporary Authority

Pursuant to ESAA license call sign E140097, Boeing operates on a near global basis its
Boeing Broadband Satellite Network (“BBSN”) to exclusively serve the needs of the United
States Air Force Air Mobility Command (“AFAMC”). Boeing has been working with the Air
Force to identify a new generation of transmit/receive antennas that are suitable for use on a new
generation of aircraft that the Air Force is bringing into service.

Pursuant to STA File Number SES-STA-20150910-00574, Boeing has been conducting
international flight testing with one such candidate antenna – the Viasat KuKarray antenna – to
ensure that it satisfies the mission requirements. Boeing seeks to continue this testing beyond the
current STA expiration date of October 14, 2015.

Concurrently, Boeing is finalizing an amendment to its ESAA license to incorporate the
new antenna in that license. The amendment should be filed with the Commission within one
week. Therefore, Boeing requests that the subject STA be renewed for a period of 60 days. The
public interest justifications for this renewal are detailed in the initial STA application.
