Attachment A DG Consents Sub, Inc. Application for STA Extension August 2015 Page 1 of 1 Description DG Consents Sub, Inc. ("DG Consents"), pursuant to Section 25.120(b)(3) of the Commission‘s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 25.120(b)(3), hereby requests a 60—day extension of its existing Special Temporary Authority ("STA") to communicate with the GeoEye—1 space station (Call Sign $2348) using its earth station license operating under Call Sign E120040 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.l See File No. SES—STA—20150120—00014, as extended in File Nos. SES—STA—20150326—00180 and SES—STA—20150602—00316. The existing STA ex%ires on August 8, 2015, and DG Consents requests an extension through October 7. a 201 5. With this request, DG Consents seeks to expand the scope of its existing STA. The initial request for STA sought authority to communicate with GeoEye—1 to perform essential testing and integration of services associated with DigitalGlobe‘s Direct Access Program. DG Consents requests that this testing authority continue and, in addition, now seeks expanded STA to permit communications with GeoEye—1 for the purposes of receiving satellite telemetry, uploading tasking information and downlinking imaging data. The frequencies to be used for these additional tasks will be identical to those currently authorized under the existing STA, and DigitalGlobe agrees to continue to operate on a special temporary basis subject to the conditions included with the initial STA grant. Grant of this request will serve the public interest by allowing DigitalGlobe to conduct expanded operations using GeoEye—1, pending Commission action on the application to add GeoEye—1 as a new Point of Communication. In summary, DG Consents respectfully requests that the Commission grant this request for extension of its Special Temporary Authority for a period of 60 days through October 7, 2015. ‘ DG Consents is a wholly owned subsidiary of DigitalGlobe, Inc. ("DigitalGlobe"). * DG Consents has filed a request to add GeoEye—1 as a Point of Communication to the Wyoming earth station authorization, thereby making communications with the satellite a permanent component of the license. See File No. SES—MOD—20140717—00604, as amended by File No. SES—AMD—20140725—00620. That request was accepted for filing on August 6, 2014, see Public Notice, Report No. SES—01670, and remains pending before the Commission.
