REQUEST FOR SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORIZATION (Call Sign E140116) DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC (“DIRECTV”) hereby requests special temporary authorization (“STA”) to operate the above referenced 17/24 GHz BSS-Ka-band TTAC earth station for up to sixty (60) days beginning February 9, 2015, while its license application is being processed (see IBFS File No. SES−LIC−20141112-00848). DIRECTV notes that the license application has been accepted for filing completed the 30-day comment period on January 17, 2015 with no comments being received. The requested STA would serve the public interest by enabling DIRECTV to conduct post- construction performance verification testing of this earth station to ensure that it will perform as intended. The public interest clearly favors grant of this application, and DIRECTV requests that it be done as expeditiously as possible.
