                    REQUEST FOR SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY
                         Call Signs: E070027 and E140117

DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC (“DIRECTV”) hereby requests Special Temporary
Authority (“STA”) for up to 30 days to conduct Telemetry Tracking and Control (TTAC)
for the DIRECTV 14 satellite (call sign 2869) during migration from the 76º W.L. orbital
location, where it is currently undergoing in-orbit testing (IOT), to its licensed position at
99.235º W.L., from its Castle Rock, CO (call sign E070027) and New Hampton, NH
earth stations (call sign E140117). 1 The specific DIRECTV 14 TTAC frequencies to be
used are 28351 MHz and 28353 MHz for telecommand and 18799 MHz and 18799.5
MHz for telemetry. DIRECTV requests that the STA begin upon the conclusion of IOT,
which DIRECTV expects to occur on or about January 12, 2015. DIRECTV will
coordinate with potentially affected satellite operators in accordance with industry
practice, and will operate on a non-interference basis during this migration.

The requested STA will serve the public interest by ensuring that the DIRECTV
14 satellite is properly controlled during the migration to its licensed orbital location.
Accordingly, DIRECTV respectfully requests that the Commission grant this STA
request as expeditiously as possible.

An application for the latter earth station has been submitted that includes DIRECTV
14 at 99.235⁰ W.L. as its only point of communication, but that application has not
yet been acted upon. See SES-LIC-20141112-00849.
