Request for Extension of Special Temporary Authority

The International Bureau previously granted two requests filed by O3b Limited
(“O3b”) for special temporary authority (“STA”) to conduct tests via the O3b satellite
system using a 1.2m earth station at the U.S Navy SPAWAR/CODA Lab at the U.S.
Navy Base in San Diego, California. The first of the two STAs, which was for a location
on the roof of the lab, was initially granted on April 29, 2014 1 and was subsequently
extended through December 27, 2014. 2

Pursuant to Section 25.120 of the Commission’s rules, 3 O3b hereby requests a
further extension of this STA covering the 180-day period between December 28, 2014,
and June 26, 2015.

O3b’s extension request is supported by good cause. An extension will enable
O3b to continue its testing and evaluation of O3b services that could benefit the U.S.
Navy. By granting O3b’s initial STA request, the Bureau already has found that
facilitating these activities is in the public interest.

Accordingly, and for good cause shown, O3b respectfully requests that its STA
extension request be granted.
