The United States Air Force, Air Mobility Command has an urgent requirement for the continued global operation of the Boeing Broadband Satellite Network and its immediate expansion to include parts of South America. This additional coverage is urgently needed to support an upcoming Department of Defense VIP/SAM mission to several South American countries. 2. It is the Government‘s intent to add BBSN coverage over South America to the contract by modification. However, this additional coverage is not currently on contract. It is anticipated that the modification to the contract will be completed prior to September 25, 2014. 3. Boeing has filed an application for Special Temporary Authority ("STA") with the Federal Communications Commission to allow continued operation and expansion of its network cover in support of the upcoming South American mission. 4. 763 SCONS requests expedited handling and processing of the Boeing STA application in order to meet the license need date of October 1, 2014. 5.
