Solo Satellite Communications Call Sign: NONE SES—STA—20140220—00071 Solo Satellite Communications is granted special temporary authority to operate a temporary earth station in Indian Wells, CA, with all U.S. authorized satellites from March 3, 2014, to March 21, 2014 under the following conditions. 1" All operations shall be on an unprotected, non—interference basis. Communications with space stations are limited to those on the Permitted Space Station List at http://transition.fee.gov/ib/sd/se/permitted.html . Solo Satellite Communications must make all reasonable and customary measures to ensure that the earth station does not create a potential for harmful non—ionizing radiation to persons who may be in the vicinity of the earth station when it is in operation. The earth station operator shall be responsible for assuring that individuals do not stray into the regions around the earth station where there is a potential for exceeding the maximum permissible exposure limits required by 47 C.F.R. §1.1310. This shall be accomplished by means of signs, caution tape, verbal warnings, placement of the earth station so as to minimize access to the hazardous region, and/or other appropriate means. Any action taken or expense incurred as a result of operations pursuant to this special temporary authority is solely at Solo Satellite Communications risk. This action is issued pursuant to Section 0.261 of the Commission‘s rules on delegated authority, 47 C.F.R. § 0.261, and is effective immediately. February 20, 2014 Federal Communications Commission Satellite Radio Communications The Portals, 445 Twelfth Street NW Washington DC 20554 Solo Satellite Communication Special Temporary Authority (STA) Request C—Band Earth Station — Indian Wells, CA Solo Satellite Communications hereby requests a Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow for temporary operation of a C—band earth station from Indian Wells, Ca. This C— Band earth station will be utilized to broadcast a tennis event from this location. Solo Satellite Communications currently owns and operates a transportable earth station licensed under Call Sign E060002 — File Number SES—LIC—20060105—00008. The licensed 3.7m antenna will also be there, but needs to depart for the event in Miami prior to the completion of Indian wells. The STA for the second 3.7 m will allow the crossover between events to happen easily, with no compromise in services. The antenna system to be used has the exact same antenna and equipment and the parameters will be within those on the E060002 license. Solo Satellite Communications hereby requests this STA for operation for a time frame beginning on March‘3, 2014 and ending on March 21, 2014. Included with this filing are the following.
