(DG Consents) is granted extension of the current STA SES—STA— 201305—00353 to operate its fixed earth station to communicate with GeoEye—1 satellite, Call Sign S$2348, and IKONOS, NGSO Satellite, Call Sign S$2144, for 60 days on the center frequencies: 2042 MHz, 2052 MHz , and 2092 MHz, (Earth—to—space), and frequency band 8025 — 8395 MHz (space—to—Earth) under the following conditions: 1. DG Consents shall limit transmissions to 53.0 dBW per carrier on the center frequencies 2042 and 2052 MHz. 2. DG Consents shall limit transmissions to 55.0 dBW per carrier on the center 2092 MHz MHz. 3. DG Consents, shall not cause harmful interference to, and shall not claim protection from, interference caused to it by any other lawfully operating station and it shall cease transmission(s) immediately upon notice of such interference. 4. The remote control point for E040264 located at 1601 Dry Creek Drive, Suite 260, Longmont, Boulder, CO, must provide 24 X 7 contact availability at 303—684—4587. In the event that there is a report of interference DG Consents must immediately terminate transmissions and notify the FCC in writing. 5. Any action taken or expense incurred as a result of operations pursuant to this special temporary authority is solely at DG Consent‘s risk. 6. Grant of this STA is without prejudice to any determination that the Commission may make regarding pending application, SES—MOD—20130228—00229, nor is it of a continuing nature. Future STA requests must document rationale of existence of extraordinary circumstances requiring temporary operations in the public interest and that delay in the institution of these temporary operations would seriously prejudice the public interest. Convenience to the applicant, such as marketing considerations or meeting scheduled customer in—service dates, will not be deemed sufficient for this purpose. See 47 C.F.R. 25.120(b)(1). Attachment A DG Consents Sub, Inc. Application for STA Extension July 2013 Page 1 of 1 Description of Request for Special Temporary Authority Extension DG Consents Sub, Inc. ("DG Consents"), pursuant to Section 25.120(b)(3) of the Commission‘s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 25.120(b)(3), hereby requests a 60—day extension of its existing Special Temporary Authority ("STA") to communicate between its Earth Exploration Satellite Service ("EESS") earth station in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska (Call Sign E040264) and the GeoEye—1 and IKONOS space stations. See File No. SES—STA— 20130501—00353. The existing STA expires on July 5, 2013, and DG Consents requests an extension through September 3, 2013. In its initial request for STA, DG Consents explained that it required temporary operating authority to allow for immediate testing of communications links between the Prudhoe Bay earth station and GeoEye—1 and IKONOS in advance of Commission action on DG Consent‘s concurrently filed request for permanent authority. See File No. SES— MOD—20130228—00229. That request for permanent authority (which was accepted for filing on June 26, 2013) remains pending before the Commission, and DG Consents‘ need to operate from Prudhoe Bay will continue past the July 5 expiration date of the existing STA. Accordingly, DG Consents requests an additional 60 days of STA pending Commission action on the application for permanent authority. Grant of this extension request will serve the public interest by enabling DigitalGlobe, Inc., parent company of DG Consents, to continue consolidation of its existing and newly acquired EESS operations without delay and assure the continued safe operation of the two subject space craft. DG Consents affirms that extended operations will continue in accordance with the conditions attached to the initial grant of STA. In summary, DG Consents respectfully requests that the Commission grant this request for extension of its Special Temporary Authority for a period of 60 days commencing on July 5, 2013.
