ASTRIUM SERVICES GOVERNMENT, INC. REQUEST FOR SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY Callsign E000284 Astrium Services Government, Inc. (“ASGI”) requests a grant of special temporary authority to allow Inmarsat-C land-based half-duplex mobile earth terminals (“Inmarsat-C METs”) authorized under callsign E000284 to continue operating pursuant to a waiver of footnotes US308 and US315 to the Table of Allocations and Section 25.136 (d) of the Commission’s Rules. The Commission originally granted the waiver in SES-LIC-20070416-00479 and the waiver expires 29 December 2012. ASGI has filed a modification of SES-LIC-20070416-00479 to renew the above- referenced waiver and we request this STA while the underlying modification application is pending. Grant of this STA is in the public interest because it will ensure continuity of service for ASGI’s many customers, including U.S. Government users. Moreover, grant of this STA will not cause interference to any other L-band operator and will not prejudice any interested party. ASGI respectfully requests that the Bureau grant this STA for a period of sixty days beginning December 29, 2012.
