Re: Request for Special Temporary Authority
Ellenwood, Georgia Ku-band Earth Station E990365

Dear Ms. Dortch:

Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests a grant of Special
Temporary Authority (“STA”)1 for 60 days, from July 15, 2012
through September 12, 2012, to utilize its Ellenwood, Georgia Ku-
band earth station prior to grant of permanent operating authority.
The antenna will communicate in the frequency bands 13750.0-
14500.0 MHz, 10950.0-11200.0 MHz, and 11450.0-12200.0 MHz
with the Telstar 11N satellite at 37.5º W.L. Intelsat has a pending
application for authority to use this antenna to transmit to this
satellite on a permanent basis.2

In support of this request, Intelsat incorporates by reference its
pending application for authority to use this antenna to transmit to
this satellite on a permanent basis.3 The application contains detailed
technical information (in Exhibits B-F) that demonstrates that the
operation of the earth station will be compatible with its
electromagnetic environment and will not cause harmful interference
into any lawfully operating facility. In the extremely unlikely event
that harmful interference should occur, Intelsat will take all
reasonable steps to eliminate the interference.

Grant of this STA request will enable Intelsat to commence a
customer service using this earth station to communicate with the
Telstar 11N satellite in accordance with the schedule that has been
communicated to the customer, thereby serving the public interest.
In addition, grant will provide the Commission with additional time
