Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Special Temporary Authority Hagerstown, Maryland Ku—band Earth Station E110120 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC ("Intelsat") herein requests a grant of Special Temporary Authority ("STA")‘ for 30 days, from May 18, 2012 through June 16, 2012, to utilize its Hagerstown, Maryland Ku—band earth station to communicate in the frequency bands 10950—1 2200 MHz and 14000—14500 MHz with the NSS—7 satellite (call sign $2463) as it drifts from 338.0° E.L. to 340.0° E.L. Intelsat has a pending application to license the above—referenced Ku—band frequencies, among other Ku—band frequencies, on the NSS—7 satellite at 340.0° E.L.* Intelsat currently utilizes earth station E110120 to provide service to a U.S. Government customer over the NSS—7 satellite at 338.0° E.L. SES World Skies, which owns NSS—7, plans to relocate the satellite to 340.0° E.L. beginning on or about May 21, 2012. So that there is no service disruption to the customer, Intelsat plans on continuing to transmit in the above—listed communication frequencies to the satellite as it drifts. In support of this request, Intelsat notes that it will continue operating earth station E110120 in accordance with its currently—licensed parameters, except for the temporary additional points of communication between 338.0° E.L. and 340.0° E.L. that will exist during the drift. In addition, there are no co— frequency satellites in the drift path between 338.0° E.L. and 340.0° E.L. Accordingly, there is no risk of harmful interference.
