Intelsat License LLC KA275 SES—STA—20110920—01119 Intelsat is granted, under the following conditions, Special Temporary Authority for 30 days, from September 29, 2011 through October 28, 2011 to use its Clarksburg, Maryland C—band earth station, call sign KA275, to provide launch and early orbit phase (LEOP) services to the SES—2 satellite at its permanent orbital location 87° W.L. SES—2 satellite was launched on September 20, 2011. 1. Uplink to SES—2 @87° W.L on 6423.5 MHz (LHCP) within coordinated emission and power limits. 2. Downlink from SES—2 @87° W.L on 3700.5 MHz and 4199.5 MHz (RHCP). 3. The LEOP operations must be coordinated with all operators of satellites that use the same frequency bands and are in the LEOP path. All operators of satellites in that path will be provided with an emergency phone number where the licensee can be reached in the event that harmful interference occurs. Currently the 24x7 contact information for the SES—2 LEOP mission is as follows: Ph.: (202) 944—7701 — East Coast Operations Center (primary); (310) 525—5900 — West Coast Operations Center (back—up). The proposed LEOP operations will be performed in conformance with the antenna‘s licensed parameters. As such, the proposed LEOP operations are not expected to cause harmful interference into lawfully operating Fixed Service facilities. In the extremely unlikely event that harmful interference should occur due to transmissions to or from its earth station, Intelsat will take all reasonable steps to eliminate the interference. Grant of this STA extension request will continue to allow Intelsat to help launch the SES—2 satellite to the 87.0° W.L. location. This, in turn, will promote the public interest by ensuring continuity of service from that location.
