Intelsat License LLC herein requests an additional 30 days, from September 1, 2011 through September 30, 2011, of the Special Temporary Authority previously granted Intelsat to utilize its recently—licensed Fort Meade, Maryland Ku—band earth station E110095 with a minor change in the licensed parameters. 13. Washington, D.C. 20554 INTELSAT Re: Request for Extension of Special Temporary Authority Fort Meade, Maryland Ku—band Earth Station E110095 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC ("Intelsat") herein requests an additional 30 days, from September 1, 2011 through September 30, 2011, of the Special Temporary Authority ("STA")‘ previously granted Intelsat to utilize its recently—licensed Fort Meade, Maryland Ku—band earth station E110095 with a minor change in the licensed parameters." Specifically, as noted in the original STA request, this STA corrects the location of the antenna, which was incorrectly stated in the original license application." The correct location is 39° 5‘ 27.7" and 76° 44" 37.6". The antenna will continue to receive in the 11.7—12.2 GHz frequency band and transmit in the 14—14.5 GHz frequency band, consistent with the permanent license. Intelsat plans to continue using this antenna to support a U.S. Government customer‘s service. Accordingly, grant is in the public interest as it would ensure service continuity to the U.S. Government customer. As noted above, the proposed operations will be consistent with the antenna‘s licensed parameters with the exception of the antenna‘s location. Accordingly, the proposed operations will be compatible with the antenna‘s electromagnetic environment and will not cause harmful interference into any lawfully operating ‘ Intelsat has filed this STA request, an FCC Form 159, a $180.00 filing fee and this supporting letter electronically via the International Bureau‘s Filing System ("IBFS"). See Policy Branch Information; Actions Taken, Report No. SES—01370, File No. SES—STA—20110728—00865 (Aug. 3, 2011) (Public Notice). * Because the correct coordinates are more than 10 seconds from those listed in the license, Intelsat cannot simply operate and notify the Commission after the fact per Section 25.118(a) (1)(iv). See 47 C.F.R. § 25.118(a)(1)(iv). Intelsat has filed an application to modify the license on a permanent basis to correct the antenna‘s location.
