Intelsat License LLC herein requests a grant of Special Temporary Authority for 30 days, from August 1, 2011 through August 31, 2011, to utilize its recently—licensed Fort Meade, ‘‘Maryland Ku—band earth station E110095 with a minor change in the licensed parameters. 13. Re: Emergency Request for Special Temporary Authority Fort Meade, Maryland Ku—band Earth Station E110095 EXPEDITED TREATMENT REQUESTED Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC ("Intelsat") herein requests a grant of Special Temporary Authority ("STA*")‘ for 30 days, from August 1, 2011 through August 31, 2011, to utilize its recently—licensed Fort Meade, Maryland Ku—band earth station E110095 with a minor change in the licensed parameters. Specifically, this STA requests corrects the location of the antenna, which was incorrectly stated in the original license application." The correct location is 39° 5‘ 27.7" and 76° 44‘ 37.6". The antenna will receive in the 11.7—12.2 GHz frequency band and transmit in the 14—14.5 GHz frequency band, consistent with the permanent license. Intelsat plans to use this antenna to support a continuous transfer of a U.S. Government customer‘s service from the previous contract holder to Intelsat. Accordingly, grant is in the public interest as it would ensure service continuity to the U.S. Government customer. Because transfer of the Government customer‘s service is schedule to occur on Monday, August 1, 201 1, Intelsat respectfully requests expeditious treatment of this request. As noted above, the proposed operations will be consistent with the antenna‘s licensed parameters with the exception of the antenna‘s location. Accordingly, the proposed operations will be compatible with the antenna‘s electromagnetic environment and will not cause harmful interference into any lawfully operating ‘ Intelsat has filed this STA request, an FCC Form 159, a $180.00 filing fee and this supporting letter electronically via the International Bureau‘s Filing System ("IBFS"). * Because the correct coordinates are more than 10 seconds from those listed in the license, Intelsat cannot simply operate and notify the Commission after the fact per Section 25.118(a) (1)(iv). See 47 C.F.R. § 25.118(a)(1)(iv). Intelsat only realized this mistake when the permanent license was granted two days ago. Intelsat shortly will file an application to modify the license on a permanent basis to correct the antenna‘s location.
